Perth Long-Term Ocean Outlet Monitoring Program

The Perth Long-Term Ocean Outlet Monitoring Program (PLOOM) was established by the Water Corporation of Western Australia in 1995 to monitor and asses the potential impacts of treated wastewater outfalls on the marine environment.  Dalcon Environmental has been responsible for the analysis of marine phytoplankton assemblages for PLOOM since the program was established and is still undertaking this analysis.

The Perth Long-Term Ocean Outlet Monitoring Program monitors the waters surrounding the ocean outfalls located off Ocean Reef, Point Peron and Swanbourne.

Dalcon Environmental is also responsible for the analysis of marine phytoplankton assemblages for similar programs for ocean outfalls in Sepia Depression and off Alkimos and Bunbury, Western Australia.
