Please review some projects that Dalcon Environmental has been involved in. Click to read more about the project.

Dalcon Environmental is often called upon by local authorities and/or Government agencies to investigate algae as a potential cause or contributing factor in wildlife (particularly waterbirds) and fish mortality events. These generally occur in freshwater, estuarine and marine environments and may be an indirect result of high algal biomass (anoxia due to night time respiration of high algal biomass or due to bacterial action in the decomposition of high algal biomass), a direct result of exposure to algal toxins or other harmful substances (e.g. haemolytic compounds) or as a result of mechanical damage caused by contact with algal cells or the mucilage produced by some algae.

Refer to Freshwater Algae and Marine Algae for more information on the potential harmful effects of algae.
