Western Australian Shellfish Quality Assurance Program

Dalcon Environmental has been responsible for the ongoing routine surveillance of commercial shellfish growing areas throughout Western Australia for potentially harmful phytoplankton since 1999 as part of the Western Australian Shellfish Quality Assurance Program (WASQAP).

In addition to this, Dalcon Environmental provides advice to the Western Australian Department of Health (the agency responsible for administering the WASQAP) and the shellfish aquaculture industry.  Dalcon Environmental provides input to the development and review of the governing documents – the (WASQAP) Manual and the Marine Biotoxin Monitoring and Management Plan and has input at a national level via the Australian Shellfish Quality Assurance Advisory Committee (ASQAAC) where Dalcon Environmental frequently represents the Western Australian shellfish aquaculture industry.
